My history as best I can remember is as follows.
Arrived at RAF Shinfield Park in November 1964 from HQ RAF Germany.
I was in the Accounts Section until moving to the Officers Mess as the Non Public Accounts bookkeeper / Mess clerk.
In September, 1966 I was on EOR to RAF Detachment Majunga (Madagascar) for three months. Interesting 3 months as I had a day in El Adem and a week in Nairobi flying out and 2 days in Aden on the way back managing to join my father at the ComCen Christmas party at Steamer Point. Our accommodation was in a Holiday Camp on the beach outside the town and we had to travel by taxi to work.
I married Anita Harget ex WRAF Admin in Oct 1967 and was one of the few remaining at SP to the bitter end.
I was then posted to HQ Air Cadets at RAF White Waltham and was there again until the end, moving to RAF Brampton where I remained until 1971.
My later postings were to
RAF Masira/Salalah 1972. (9 months)
RAF PMC Innsworth 1972-1975.
RAF Rheindahlen 1975 - 1978
RAF Binbrook 1978 - 1982 when I retired from the RAF.
Office manager for 5 years with a local removal and storage company.
20 years with a firm of Chartered Accountants retiring in 2007.
Residing in seclusion outside Louth, Lincolnshire with 2 acres and plenty of gardening but still have time for golf and travel.
We have 2 daughters, Karin (b 1970) a Chartered Accountant living in Toronto working for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Fiona (b 1973) a sports teacher living near Guildford.
